Meet your dentist in Hanover, Maryland: Dr. Sumitra Yalamanchili
Dr. Sumitra Yalamanchili is a Maryland native. After high school, she was accepted into a 7-year dental program at Muhlenberg College. Graduating a year early from college, she pursued her Master’s in public health at George Washington University. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Yalamanchili completed a one-year GPR program at the VA Medical Center in Philadelphia and went on to complete her oral and maxillofacial surgery training at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey (2009). As a chief resident, Dr. Yalamanchili was awarded a scholarship for recognition as an outstanding resident in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Yalamanchili is fully trained in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Her primary interests are in dentoalveolar surgery, third molar extractions, dental implants, including full-arch fixed prostheses, and intravenous anesthesia. Dr. Yalamanchili maintains her hospital privileges at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center and also operates at Towson Surgical Center.
Dr. Yalamanchili is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a member of The MidAtlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The Maryland Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She is also an anesthesia evaluator for the Maryland State Dental Board. Dr. Yalamanchili has been recognized in Baltimore magazine as a “Top Doc” for several years including 2020.
